A short guide
Tapas bars in Málaga's old town
A tapas bar in Málaga's old town
FOMO Bar is a tapas bar on Calle Carretería 44, in the historic centre of Málaga (29008). It opens every day from 12:30pm, the kitchen doesn't close in the afternoon, and it doesn't take bookings.
Our motto is «una taberna de malagueños para los malagueños»: a taberna by Málaga people, for Málaga people. Visitors are more than welcome, and the menu is in English.
FOMO stands for Fear Of Missing Out. It opened in February 2024.
It was made by Málaga people, for Málaga people (that's our motto), and visitors are more than welcome. A tapas bar, not a tapas restaurant with tablecloths.
Every guide to the best tapas in Málaga has its own favourites. We'll keep it simple: a gilda, a vermouth and a stool at the bar.
The old town is full of tapas bars and tapas restaurants. What makes this one different: the kitchen doesn't stop between lunch and dinner, the menu is in English, and nobody asks if you have a booking.
How tapas work at FOMO Bar
- Order a few small things at a time. Start with a gilda or two, then order more.
- Sizes: many dishes come as a tapa (small), media (half) or entera (full). One price means one size.
- Bites (bocados) are single small sandwiches with names, like El Matrimonio Perfecto. Two or three each is about right.
- Eat when you like. Lunch at 3pm or dinner at 7pm: the kitchen is non-stop.
- Pay by card or phone. Credit, debit and contactless are fine.
